Governance innovation in performing the macro defense-political duties of the government
Optimal fulfillment of macro defense-political duties is one of the most important pillars of protection and preservation of the country. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design a model in the field of governance innovation and present new ideas in order to perform the macro defense-political duties of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This research is mixed method (qualitative-quantitative) in terms of the data nature. In the qualitative section, the statistical population includes academic and organizational experts, and the data were extracted through a review of theoretical foundations and a qualitative interview with experts was conducted through a focus group. In the quantitative part, the statistical population includes managers and employees of governmental, military and non-governmental organizations and the data were collected through a survey questionnaire. Quantitative research model was designed with fuzzy inference system.
The government, the military and civil society were identified as actors for macro defense-political duties. Improving defense-political affairs at the levels of the individual, organization and system leads to the optimization of the defense-political duties of the government. Defense-political affairs at the level of the organization are more effective than other levels in performing the optimal macro defense-political duties of the government. At the individual level, civil society plays a pivotal role, and at the organizational level and system level, the military and government play a pivotal role, respectively.
