Explaining the interactions between religion and media with a view to child education

Abstract:
Purpose

The aim of this paper is to examine the interactions and common topics between media and religion regarding children's education.

Methodology

The research method is analytical-descriptive and has been done using library and internet resources.

Findings

The findings show that the media (especially video media such as television) play a significant role in the education of children (whether religious or secular). It was also found that the cooperation between the media and religion on the one hand causes expansion and institutionalization of religious concepts and makes them available to a larger audiences. On the other hand, the media is legitimized and accepted by the public by publishing religious teachings and concepts.

Conclusion

The results of cooperation and interactions between religion and media can be noted as: expanding the influence of religion, religious discourse, promoting religion, creating religious experience, creating sacred symbols, creating spiritual transformation, informing about other religions, creating religious role models, schools.
