Explaining the treatment of context in the works of the architectural index of the central texture of Mashhad in the second Pahlavi period; Case examples: Reza Bazaar, Mashhad Railway Station, Nader Shah Tomb

The traditional texture of the city is the heritage of past values, history, and culture displayed in the urban body. Renovation project development in the traditional context of cities has caused a rift between past and contemporary architecture. Thus, in valuable fields that have undergone physical changes in recent years, to achieve appropriate solutions for the context's historical, cultural, and physical values by analyzing how the past architectural significant works deal with the field. This research is necessary to realize the importance of Mashhad's central texture, which has lost its identity during the renovation projects of the texture close to the holy shrine. On the other hand, focusing on the hidden dimensions of architecture, the significant works of the second Pahlavi period, and the central texture of Mashhad is related to the context. This study aims to explain dealing with the field in the architectural significant works at the second Pahlavi period and provide solutions for continuing the architectural identity of its field. The present study has a qualitative approach and case survey samples; the descriptive-analytical and comparative comparison methods are used to classify the components of theoretical foundations and examine case samples, respectively. According to the results, the architecture of the Reza Bazaar building has the highest level of contextualism; both Nader Shah's tomb and railway station have a high level of regionalism; in all three buildings, there is a tendency towards regionalism in local materials and architecture. Also, the visual context is the most important background factor observed in the mentioned works. Finally, we proposed solutions to continue the architecture of the central context of Mashhad.
