The Effectiveness of Schema Therapy and Positive Psychology on Reviving Couples Attraction, Self-Compassion and Gratitude among Involved Couples

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of emotional schema therapy and positive psychology training on the attractiveness of couples, self-esteem and appreciation among couples with marital problems. This research is applied in terms of purpose and semi-experimental in terms of method, with a test-post-test design with a control group. The study population included couples with marital problems in Tehran who had referred to counseling centers in Tehran in 1400, from which 60 people (30 couples) were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to three experimental and control groups. . The research instruments were Bagarozi Intimacy Questionnaire (2001), Neff Self-Compassion Questionnaire (2003) and McCliff Appreciation Questionnaire (2002). The findings showed that both intervention methods can be effective in improving intimacy, self-esteem and appreciation of couples with marital problems. According to the findings, it can be concluded that both interventions have an effect on increasing intimacy, self-esteem and appreciation between couples
