Abstract:
The aim of this research was to investigate the relations between Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the context of their security policy. Accordingly, the main question of the research is: how can the competition between the two countries be perceived in the form of their security policy. This hypothesis for the question is proposed that: given Saudi Arabia's aggressive policy of balancing against the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of confrontation between Shias and Wahhabis, support for allied religions, leadership of the Islamic world, Iran's nuclear plan and the actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the competition between the two countries can be analyzed in this regard. The findings showed that Saudi Arabia is trying to change the regional security order in its favor according to the shifts in the three domains of domestic, regional, and behavioral changes in the US actions for acquisition of influence and supremacy. This research has been conducted in descriptive-analytical method.
