A Study of Two Revivalist Readings in the Islamic World: Epistemological Revival and Identity Revival

Tradition and modernity or religion and modernity, is our big problem, which has been expressed in the form of theory in the form of intellectual and traditionalist currents, and in the field action in the form of revivalist currents. The Islamic Awakening and Islamic Revival show a kind of self-awareness of the unfavorable situation and efforts to correct the current situation. But the origin of this current is not necessarily knowledge-based, so in practice we are faced with various currents that claim to be revived. Attention to the distinction between these currents has a great impact on their pathology. This article seeks to distinguish between two types of Religious revival (Epistemological Revival and Identity Revival) and Note that one of the main reasons for the failure of revivalist currents in the Islamic world is the dominance of psycho-identity revival over epistemological revival. In the Islamic world, the number of currents that are examples of knowledge-based revival are in the minority, and as long as this idea remains in the minority, there can be no hope for a practical revival in the Islamic world. In the text of the article, while referring to the issue of the relationship between revivalist currents and identity and degeneration, an attempt has been made to explain the components and characteristics of identity revivalist.
