The capacities and challenges of puppetry in representing the life of religious leaders

The purpose of this article is to investigate the capabilities and challenges of puppet shows to represent the lives of religious leaders.

Data collection is mixed (interview- library) and analysis method is qualitative (descriptive-explanatory).

First, we come to "imaginary" and "uniqueness" as two special capacities, as well as "taboos" as the most important challenge. Then, in order to solve this challenge, "Religion's opinion about puppet show", "abuse" and "distortion" of religious leaders; And also "Religion's opinion about the representation of the life of religious leaders in a puppet show" has been examined, and in the following we will introduce a general rule to solve this problem.

Puppet show has no conflict with Islamic religious concepts; and vice versa, it is a special capacity to deal with the life of the leaders of this religion. Of course, this has challenges that are not insurmountable. To solve the most important of them (which are taboos), a formula is suggested: in the first step, the artist (about the content or image) should not claim reality and acknowledge that his work is an adaptation. Second, he should be careful not to insult religious leaders in his adaptation work. It is in this case that he can claim that he has not violated any of the prohibited things of Sharia (haram), and his artwork has no religious objections.
