Challenges of the current procedureof consumer protection and the requirements of the correct Iranian model for consumer protection
The consumer and the supplier as the parties of a transaction have rights and rights that due to the general consumption of some goods/services in the country, consumer rights are part of the recognized citizen rights that governments are required to protect. This research has been done by analytical-descriptive method. The research question is what are the strengths and weaknesses of the current practice of protecting consumer rights in the country and what are the ways to improve it? Not much time has passed since the approval of the Consumer Rights Protection Law and many examples of consumer rights have not been mentioned in it. The executive documents of this law are not very clear about the responsibilities. Civil and criminal responsibilities are not clearly specified in the law, and in the implementation section, the responsibilities of different institutions are either not determined correctly or conflict with each other. On the other hand, the economic capacity of our country is such that the position of supporting domestic production should also be prominent in the mentioned model, which is sometimes in conflict with consumer rights. The result of the discussion is that for the proper protection of consumer rights, the first step of economic growth is needed, and accordingly, the increase in the quality of products can be justified.
