Sociological explanation of the causes of social harms of cyberspace among male adolescents in Tehran

With the spread of information technology, adolescents are increasingly being targeted by various sites and are suffering from social harms. The purpose of this study is to explain the sociological causes of social harms that threaten them in cyberspace.Research The present study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical method. The statistical population is 125093 people who are in the age group (16-18) years. Cochran's formula was used to determine the sample size and its sample size with a significance level of 5% is 383 people. In order to check the validity, a logical method was used and the opinions of 5 social harm experts in the field of cyberspace were used and approved in terms of quantity and quality. Data were collected by a questionnaire and processed using SPSS software and measured by Chi-square, Spearman, logistic regression, beta and gamma tests. Findings show that with increasing use of cyberspace, social harms of information theft, cyberbullying, verbal violence, psychological violence, financial violence and sexual violence increase. The results show that social harms are related to online addiction, peer group, anonymity, individual and social failures, lack of family attachment, and media program content.Keywords: Sociological, Social harms, Cyberspace, Adolescents.
