The relationship between sports places and people's health

Abstract:
Introduction

The areas where people live and the type of space design as well as the existing sports places can be encouraging and motivating for people's activities; Therefore, the purpose of this research was the relationship between sports spaces and people's health.

Methods

The statistical population of the research was all Tehrani citizens over 20 years of age, and the research sample was determined by Morgan's table and stratified random sampling of 500 people. Research tools included personal information questionnaire, international physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ) and 12-question general health questionnaire (GHQ-12). Pearson's statistical test using SPSS software was used to analyze the data.

Results

The research results showed that there is a significant relationship between access to sports spaces with mental health and mental disorders (P<0.001)..

Conclusion

It seems that access to sports spaces and proximity to sports complexes can be a factor in the direction of more use and motivation to exercise, and in this regard, people's mental health is higher than when access is less.
