Investigating the Social Media Interactions in Attention to Citizenship Behaviors

The purpose of this study is to investigate the social interactions of the media in relation to citizenship behaviors. In terms of purpose, the present study is applied, and in terms of data collection method, the research method is survey. The statistical population of the present study consists of all citizens over 18 years of age in tehran in 2021, whose number is over 115,000 people. Cochran's formula is used to determine the sample size and the sample is equal to 384 people. The sampling method is a multi-stage cluster. Data were analyzed by SPSS software and regression coefficient was used to analyze the hypotheses. The findings of the research show that social interactions in the national media and social media have a significant positive effect on paying attention to citizenship behaviors. But social interactions in local media have no effect on citizen behavior. The correlation coefficient between social interactions in the media with regard to citizenship behaviors is equal to 0.65 and the coefficient of determination is equal to 0.42. In other words, it can be said that 0.42 changes in attention to citizenship behaviors are determined by social interactions in the media, and 0.58 are determined by other variables. Also, the results show that social interactions in national media 0.38 and social interactions in social media 0.57 predict changes in attention to citizenship behaviors.
