The Use of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for Dealing With COVID-19: A Review Study
Many countries have used information technology to deal with COVID-19. With the use of advanced technologies, it is possible to predict the prevalence, current situation, and trend of the disease and reduce the risks. This study aims to review the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data in management of COVID-19 pandemic.
In this review study, a search was first conducted in Google Scholar, SID, PubMed and ScienceDirect databases using the keywords coronavirus, COVID-19, artificial Intelligence, and big data for the related articles published in 2020. Inclusion criteria were accessibility of full texts and publication in Persian or English. Out of 150 yielded articles, 9 articles were finally included in the study.
There are different methods based on AI and big data to predict and diagnose COVID-19, including convolutional neural networks, deep learning technology, and machine learning technology.
The methods based on AI and big data have a high potential for COVID-19 prediction and diagnosis. To use their full potential, it is necessary to solve problems such as the lack of standard data sets, security issues, and data quality; the use of data from sources can be helpful in this filed.
