Identifying the Influencing Factors of Spouses on Managers' Organizational Decision-Making
The first goal of this research is to identify and rank the influencing factors of spouses on managers' organizational decision-making.
In terms of its objectives, this study is of an applied research type and in terms of methodology, it is considered a qualitative-quantitative (mixed-method) study. In this regard, the Delphi method has been used in three rounds. Primary indicators were extracted from research literature and 41 indicators out of 72 indicators reached the ranking stage. The panel of experts included 33 managers who were selected by the snowball sampling method. Exploratory factor analysis was also used to confirm the factors.
The findings of the research indicate the identification of eight categories: "spouse's mental health", "children's mental health", " spouse's relationships outside the family", " spouse's teachings in her family before marriage", "care for parents by the spouse", "spouse's job transfer", "spouse's expectation of manager's income", and "spouse's companionship and acceptance of the consequences of manager's decisions".
The mental and physical health of the manager and his family is the most important priority that organizations can pay attention to in order to improve the decision-making situation of managers. It is suggested that the welfare affairs management of companies provide special programs for managers and their families; such as the allocation of sports and entertainment facilities, familiarization meetings in the company, insurance coverage of parents under family care and all kinds of consultations.
