The main question of the research is what effect has the regional order of the Middle East had on Iran's security policy, what signs and patterns has this policy followed and what is its future? The Middle East regional order is the most important environmental variable affecting the security policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Patterns and signs of Iran's security strategy are influenced by the changing nature of the Middle East security structure; In the first decade of the revolution, and especially during the Iran-Iraq war, it was affected by environmental threats and security ambiguities, based on defense patterns. After the US invasion of Iraq and the formation of a hegemonic order based on signs of accumulation of power continued, and in the years of the Arab Spring and the expansion of geopolitics, the threat was focused on the balance of threat and the escalation of the crisis. The future of this relationship is influenced by the pattern of action of actors who define their goals based on trends of stability and cooperation or insecurity and conflict.
