Competency Model of Commanders and Managers in Crisis Management

Background & The selection and appointment of competent managers with necessary capabilities is one of the most important and sensitive issues in the crisis management process. Based on this, in the current research, the competency model of commanders and managers in crisis management is identified.
The current research is a type of applied research in which content analysis strategy is used. The statistical population of the research included experts and experts of the Air Defense Force, 12 of whom were selected as a sample size in a targeted way. Interviews were used to collect data. The research data were analyzed through coding.
Based on the analysis of the research data, each of the individual, interpersonal, organizational and environmental competencies and insight of the commanders and managers were identified for each of the stages before the crisis, during the crisis and after the crisis.
The selection and appointment of commanders and managers can be done based on the extracted model of competence of commanders and managers in crisis management in this research. Based on this, the managers should proceed to develop the operational model of the final model.
