The Importance of Comprehension & Training of Strategic Metals in Materials Engineering
Author(s):
Abstract:
Strategic metals are those equipment, may be limited in the country or depended to foreign countries. Shortage of strategic raw material may cause critical condition for various nations. It is also used in advanced industry, but their raw material, production technology or important to be aware of the effect of different factors on their production. Most strategic metals are found with copper, lead, zinc and tin ore (the source of some strategic metals) in Iran, which are extracted as by-product. The efficiency and usage, growth of supply and demand, rank of importance and production rate of the strategic metals are different. To detect their rank of importance, recognition of factors which affect their cost and crisis, is necessary. Rapid application of strategic metals and limitation of their ores in Iran and all over the world, it is possible that their strategic degree for Iran will increase gradually, so it is necessary to plan comprehensive schedules and take them into consideration in metallurgical engineering education in the future.
