Relationship between Attachment Styles and Conflict Resolution Patterns with Women's Marital Satisfaction

Abstract:
The present study examined the association among the attachment styles and conflict resolution patterns with women''s marital satisfaction resident in Tehran in a sample of 250 married women who had been selected through the accessibility sampling and filled in "Attachment Styles, Marital Satisfaction and Conflict Resolution Patterns Questionnaires". Results indicated that secure and occupational attachment styles enable us to predict marital satisfaction, moreover, secure attachment style proved to be positively and occupational style showed to be negatively correlated with marital satisfaction, additionally, wife's ignorance, husband's misbehavior and discontinuing can be regarded as predictors of marital satisfaction with regard to conflict resolution patterns. Results also indicated that husband's verbal conflict resolution strategy was significantly correlated with marital satisfaction. By contrast, ignorance strategies, husband's misbehavior and discontinuing demonstrated a negative relationship with marital satisfaction.
