The construction and standardization of the rating scale for diagnosis of conduct disorder among the students in fifth grade of elementary school in Tehran city, central part of Iran (Teacher's form)

Abstract:
Introduction
The aim of this study is to provide a behavioral questionnaire which could diagnose conduct disorder from other disorders of childhood.
Materials And Methods
In this practical study which was done during 2007 and 2008, 515 students in fifth grade elementary school have been selected in Tehran city using random sampling cluster. To implement the study, at first a list of the characteristics of conduct disorder was provided for specialists, according to clinical resources. Completed questionnaire was given to 10 teachers of 5th grade of elementary school and their comments were used in decreasing ambiguities of the questionnaire. So final questionnaire was adjusted. Validity of the questionnaire was assessed through the alpha Kroenbakh, the split-half and the test-retest methods.
Results
After the factor analysis by method of the main components using varimax rotation, five factors of aggression, irresponsibility, deception, sabotage, and poor interpersonal relationships were extracted, which were explaining 74.70 percent of total variance. Validity of the questionnaire was 0.975, 0.858 and 0.973 through the alpha Kroenbakh, the split-half and the test-retest method, respectively. Correlation of the test with conductive disorder inventory-4 questionnaire (teachers’ form) was 0.871. According to standard deviation, quartile, sensitivity, and specificity and percentile scores of the test, the cut-off point was 60.
Conclusion
Final version of the diagnostic questionnaire for conduct disorder (teachers’ form) was prepared with reasonable reliability.
