Reconstruction of an Integrated Scale for Spiritual Intelligence: Reliability, validation, Review of Factor structure and Production of Parallel Versions
Author(s):
Abstract:
The present paper seeks to find a valid, reliable, flexible and researchable tool in terms of spiritual intelligence and spiritualistic approach. To this end, the short version of "integrated spiritual intelligence scale" was chosen and translated into Persian. Then it was distributed among 414 university students (275 female and 139 male) in Gilan University, who were selected through multi-stage cluster sampling. The results of principal components analysis by varimax and promax rotation with the criterion of "high recognition ability and pure factor loading and higher than 0.40" proved the value of 40 items to be contributed in the body of final scale. So, seven factors (internal-based orientation, pious hope, openness, meaning-seeking, relationship-orientation, internal stability and adjustment) were obtained, which justified %48 of variance of whole questionnaire. Using t-scores, the norm and cut amplitude of target scale with 40 items were determined and two parallel versions with 20 items, comparable statistical parameters and psychometric features, and similar factor loads were developed.
