Investigating the Effect of Behavioral Training of Empathetic Skills on the Levels of Empathy and Systemizing in Children with High Function in Autism in Tehran

Abstract:
Objective
The Present study investigates the effect of training empathy skills on systemizing levels and empathy level in high functioning children with Autism.
Method
Population of study includes all children (7-12ys) with high performance autism in Tehran province. 12 male children with high performance autism (6 for experimental and 6 for control group) were selected through convenient sampling. To investigate the systemizing and empathizing variable, EQ-SQ Questionnaires (Baron- Cohen, 2002) were completed by mothers of both groups in the beginning and at the end of the study.
Results
Analysis of the data show that systemizing levels in both groups increased significantly after the completion of the training course.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that instructing empathizing skills can make significant changes in empathizing and systemizing scores.
