Investigating and Analyzing Performance of ICT Offices in Providing Services to Rural Regions (Case Study: Rural Regions of Jiroft Township)

In recent decades, the world has observed fundamental changes in different domains. The rural field is among those fields which have received a lot of attention for developing infrastructures of ICT in Iran in recent decades. Therefore, in the present study, the performance of ICT offices in providing services to rural regions of Jiroft Township has been analyzed and investigated. The method employed in the present study is descriptive-analytical. It is an applied research in terms of objectives, and a case study in terms of population. To collect data, the two techniques of documentary studies and survey research were used. To complete the existing data, questionnaires were employed. The area of the study covers residents living in villages with ICT offices of Jiroft Township. Regarding 3434 households of these villages, the sample size was evaluated as 294 participants according to Cochran formula. To analyze data in the descriptive part, frequency tables, percentage, scores, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation; and in inferential analysis, t-test and multivariate regression were used and calculations were conducted via SPSS software. Findings of TPI and one sample t-test indicated that from investigated dimensions performances of ITC offices have not had appropriate performances except in in post-bank services. The reasons can be unfamiliarity of villagers with different internet services, lowness of internet speed, and insufficiency of required equipment in those offices. Finally, results of multivariate regression indicated that the education level, the degree of familiarity with computers, and income significant correlations with proper uses of ICT
