The Effects of Neurofeedback Training on Balance, Fatigue and Quality of Life in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis

Abstract:
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic and progressive neurological disease which causes imbalance, fatigue and finally decrease of quality of life. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of neurofeedback training on balance and fatigue in patients with MS, Eighteen patients (4 men and 14 women)  with MS from Iran multiple sclerosis society with disability (EDSS) less than 4.5 were purposefully selected and were randomly divided into two groups (experimental=8, normal=10). The berg balance test, stand up and go test, fatigue severity and quality of life questionnaire were measured before and after the training period. Data were analyzed using independent and paired sample t test (p0.05). The t-test results showed that the balance of the patients in the experimental group was significantly improved following neurofeedback training. (P
