A meta-analysis of the political capital literature in Iran(Period of the decade 1390s)

Political capital is a valuable resource that its function is vital for the good governance process, and its ultimate goal is the fulfillment of democracy for citizens and legitimacy for the political system. Concerning the importance of this phenomenon and the production of considerable amount of studies about it in Iran during the current decade, studying the literature seems necessary. Therefore, this article aims at the systematic study of the status of political capital literature in Iran, using meta-analysis method, concerning the research question; What is the status of the political capital literature and its level in Iran according to the findings? The results indicate that, given the semantic overlaps of the political capital with concepts such as social capital; the frequency of studies conducted, has been high and expanding and amounts to 1000 studies. The approach of most studies was institutional and, theoretically, is conceptualized mostly under the social capital theory. Also, the level of political capital in various dimensions and levels of society, from citizens and civil society to state and government (especially concerning the variables of trust, participation and political networks), has been weak and downward. Among the effective factors are poor performance, inability to meet the demands of the people, especially livelihood and lack of proper response to the feedback of executive policies in the various areas of domestic and foreign policy by the government.
